IT’S SUNSET TIME

Who does this Don Wiley think he is to have the gall, the audacity, the impertinence to write articles and send them to literally HUNDREDS of ordained ministers throughout the United States, correcting them and showing them their errors??!!  Why the very nerve!  He thinks he has greater insight into spiritual truth than a Mormon bishop?  He thinks He understands better than a Roman Catholic cardinal?    Why he even has the temerity to correct a Baptist pastor!!!  How insulting can you get?
.
Folks, the average preacher doesn’t have the foggiest idea of just how the Lord “calls” someone to be a teacher of His Word.  I can’t count the number of times I have heard some preacher say, or write, how God called them to preach when they were nine, ten or twelve years old!  No wonder the Christian faith is divided and subdivided into scores of differing denominations, teaching a myriad of conflicting doctrines.
.
Anytime I hear some preacher say, “I don’t get my doctrine out of the Old Testament,” I know that I am listening to a grossly deceived individual.  Where on earth do they think the early church obtained their doctrine?  They had no New Testaments to flip through and quote.  Jesus said, “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by EVERY WORD that proceeds out of the mouth of God” (See Matthew 4:4).   Are the Hebrew scriptures inspired, or not.  When they wrote, “Thus saith the Lord,” were they kidding? dishonest? mistaken?  Did the words they wrote proceed out of the mouth of God or from their own deluded minds?
.
Few professing Christians really examine the scriptures closely thereby proving their beliefs.  They just gullibly, and yes blindly, accept whatever is spoon-fed them from the pulpit.  Their comfort level grows a thousand-fold when they realize most all of their fellow believers do the same and are in agreement with them as to what the Bible does and does not teach.  While whistling “Amazing Grace,” they slide deeper and deeper into confusion self-assured that all is well with their soul.
